As you may know, in early April the Moon Area School District Board of Education voted to honor William B. “Rip” Scherer, for his service, accomplishments, and contributions during his tenure as Director of Athletics & Physical Education for the school district. For this decision, we are grateful to the School Board, as well as to members of The William “Rip” Scherer Memorial Recognition Committee. The playing surface of the Moon Tiger Stadium will be dedicated as “The William ‘Rip’ Scherer Field” at a ceremony on the field during half-time of the Moon vs. Baldwin football game, Friday, September 14, 2018.
